The New Islamic Lifecoaching 101 Course

Introductory LifeCoaching course for Muslim womenIslamic Lifecoaching 101 was the first course offered as part of the CoachAmal service and I'm now pleased to announce the release of the updated version.

The first time this course was run was in Cairo. I'd been coaching a local sister for a few months who wanted to explore, among other things, a career transition. She'd previously studied some NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and wasn't only interested in coaching for how it could benefit her personally, but also wanted to look into the possibility of developing coaching skills so she could coach others. When she eventually started to explore ways she could develop her skills, she asked if she could be my first coaching student!

I hadn't anticipated organising a course at that point in time; I was due to leave the country within a couple of months and there already seemed so much to do, but Allah was presenting me with an opportunity that was too good to miss. I contacted her next day with a plan to launch the first Islamic Lifecoaching 101 course and within a month we had worked together to gather an international group of sisters together who were also interested in the course.

The atmosphere throughout the course was dynamic and exciting. I could see the sisters growing and becoming stronger as the weeks went by; it was pretty special to see the benefits of coaching having its effect on all the members of the group in so many different ways. Through the course they not only gained a greater insight into their own personal challenges and some tools that they could use to overcome them, but they also learned some basic coaching techniques they could use to help their friends, family and colleagues to work on some of their life challenges too. By the end of the course, the one sister still wanted to go on to develop her skills further to become a qualified coach. And they all left with new perspectives on their own lives and goals to work on to become closer to the person they had been created to be.

One year later, and I'm still in touch with most of those sisters. I received this in a message from one of them recently in which she said:

I picked up the [CoachAmal] course file today to do my goals for the coming period and I remembered how wonderful the classes were.

Isn't that an amazing testimony to the value she found in the course?
